A Little Food Photography – Solita, Prestwich

The other evening I went for a meal at Solita‘s Prestwich restaurant, and it was a little too close to getting my new lens for me to not take it on a test drive.

For a little foodie background – there are four Solita restaurants – and they all serve really awesome burgers and hot dogs… they like to add the occasional crazy yet awesome burger to the menu too.

We had the Solita Nachos to start, Jamie had the Bacon Double Cheeseburger with Cheeseburger Fries as a main, I had the Hallou Me? Burger with Pizza Fries…. And for desert Jamie had the Sticky Toffee Pudding while I got the Oven Baked Smores. We didn’t manage to finish everything, but looking at this huge list makes me feel less good about that – gym today! A treat every once and a while isn’t too bad though, and trust me the food’s worth it.

Anyway, as the aim of this post would suggest, here’s my attempt at a little food photography! Still plenty of improvements to be made but it’s a start.

And, as a bonus set of photos, I took advantage of the chance to test a little portrait photography with the lens! Really love the outcome – especially the way it picks up so much bokeh in the background.
