Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya, Thailand

I’ve now been back in the UK for over a week, and Thailand was honestly one of the best holidays I’ve ever had. This is just a quick little post about one of the highlights of the holiday: the Sanctuary of Truth (with some extra photos). I’ll be adding a Thailand gallery soon! The first trip we went on was to this beautiful temple, carved from wood featuring countless Hindu and Buddhist symbols. It was definitely a sight for sore eyes and I’m really glad I got to see it up close. There were two gold leaf trees, which we were told were for the passing of the King. We bought a gold leaf and put our names and where we were from on it, then hung it onto one of the trees. Before reaching the temple, there were goats and elephants you could feed. You could also go on an “elephant ride” around the outside of the Sanctuary, but this wasn’t something we had chosen to do. The wooden carvings themselves were amazing, so much detail and hard work has gone into them and they aren’t just on the outside but all over the inside as well! What makes it even more awesome is you can see all around that they’re still working on the carvings, adding even more to them.
